Here are my tips to help you win in a multiple-offer scenario.
I know that many buyers are frustrated in our market. Perhaps you’ve sent out multiple offers on homes, only to have them all rejected. Today I’ll share a few key tips that will give you a competitive edge in our current market and help you come out on top:
1. Write a clear offer. Make sure that the writing in your offer is clear so that you’re able to communicate exactly what you want without a lot of back-and-forth between agents.
2. Don’t leave any blanks in your offer. Be sure that your agent doesn’t leave any blanks on your offer, including the listing office spaces and the contact information for both agents.
3. Make your first offer over the asking price. In some states, homes are receiving nearly 40 offers at a time! Here, we’re seeing at least three or four offers on certain types of homes within the first day, especially in certain price points. If your first offer is over the asking price, that will help get the seller’s attention and propel you above your competitors.
“Compose the best offer you can with your agent so you can get the home you want.”
Ultimately, meet with your agent so that, together, you can form a gameplan on how to formulate the very best offer that will enable you to purchase the home you desire amid the furious competition in our market.
