Which local spots in Cheyenne are worth trying? If you’re new to Cheyenne or just looking for a great place to eat, you might be wondering which local spots are worth trying. As someone who eats out often and loves exploring what the city has to offer, I’ve found a few restaurants that really stand out.
These places are local favorites for good reason. Today, I’ll share my top five favorite restaurants in Cheyenne and what makes each one special.
Little Bear Inn offers a fine dining feel with comfort. If you’re in the mood for something a little more upscale but still relaxed, Little Bear Inn is a great choice. They serve a variety of American dishes and bar favorites, but their prime rib is what keeps me coming back. It’s cooked perfectly, tender, and full of flavor. I always recommend ordering medium rare to get the best taste and texture. Whether it’s date night or a special celebration, Little Bear Inn never disappoints.
Uncle Charlie’s brings that true local charm. Uncle Charlie’s has been around for years and is one of the most well-known restaurants in Cheyenne. The all-you-can-eat salad bar is a hit, especially during lunch. I often stop in just for that, but their wings, burgers, and sandwiches are also great. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, with that classic local feel that makes you feel right at home. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed meal and good conversation.
T-Joe’s Steakhouse & Saloon offers a taste of the road. T-Joe’s sits just off Highway 80 on the east side of town and has become a go-to stop for both locals and travelers. It’s right next to a truck stop, which gives it a unique mix of customers and energy. They serve solid comfort food, but again, the prime rib stands out. I like comparing prime ribs from different restaurants, and T-Joe’s always ranks near the top for me. If you’re craving hearty food in a laid-back setting, this is the place.
The Albany is a historic downtown favorite. Located next to the Cheyenne Depot and across from The Wrangler, The Albany is a staple in downtown dining. The building itself gives off that classic Western saloon vibe that fits perfectly with Cheyenne’s history. Their prime rib is excellent, and the location makes it convenient to stop by after shopping or exploring downtown. They also have a full bar and a liquor store attached, so you can grab a drink or take something home.
Sanford’s Grub & Pub delivers fun and big portions. Sanford’s is my personal favorite in Cheyenne. The atmosphere is unlike anywhere else. The restaurant is packed with memorabilia, old car parts, sports gear, and decorations from floor to ceiling. It’s lively, entertaining, and perfect for families or groups. The menu is huge with something for everyone, and the portion sizes are large enough that you’ll almost always need a to-go box. Despite the big servings, the prices are fair, and the food is consistently good.
Cheyenne has so many great local spots to enjoy, and these five restaurants are a good place to start. Each one offers something different, from fine dining to casual comfort food, giving you a real taste of what the city has to offer. Whether you’re new to the area or have lived here for years, exploring local favorites is one of the best ways to experience the Cheyenne lifestyle.
